What is DeMarini?

DeMarini offers equipment and accessories for all sorts of sports, but they’re most popular for the manufacturing of baseball and softball equipment, including both slow pitch and fastpitch bats and gloves. If you’re looking for a baseball bat that brings you loads of power in one hit, this is the brand for you! They continuously improve and add new technological features to their metal bats that have proven nothing but power. You can find DeMarini in Hillsboro, Oregon, USA. And if you haven’t seen it yet, check out the Demarini baseball logo and get yourself acquainted with this high classed baseball brand hit!

DeMarini History

Founded in Oregon in the year 1989 by Ray DeMarini, this company started out making softball bats that were on a whole new level with technology when it came to other softball bats on the market. Some people say this is what started the metal bat technology game in the baseball and softball manufacturing game.

DeMarini 1

Keeping both safety and power in mind, DeMarini introduced double wall bats in 1995 and that must have been the turning point of the vision on layered interiors for bats and the start of the many multiple layered bats we now see on the market! Before knowing it, DeMarini had a big business boom around the same time as the introduction of the double walls and by the year 2000 had been bought by Wilson Sporting Goods.

Now DeMarini is part of the Wilson Sporting Goods family and have certainly lived up to their name in baseball! DeMarini is considered to be a high end brand for baseball bats and you’ll love the technology they’ve come up with today on a few of their metal bats, which we’ll be taking a look at!

DeMarini Technology

3Fusion

This technology is within the whole bat- from the 3 Fusion End Cap that significantly optimizes weight control, therefore, better the chance at a good performance due to the lower MOI (Moment of Inertia) count. Down where the barrel meets the handle you’ll find a little collar that’s part of the 3 Fusion system that greatly reduces negative vibrational feedback on the handle and redirecting all the energy back into the barrel for a more powerful hit!

Paraflex Composite

22% stronger than its predecessor composite material by Demarini, you’ll find that this material is one of the more durable materials out there on a metal baseball bat. The Paraflex Composite isn’t just stronger though, it works with the 3 Fusion handle by handling the redirected energy from the handle with grace to deliver a crazy pop with a bat of pretty high tech weight distribution.

RCK Knob

This RCK Knob by Demarini was designed ergonomically, not only keeping your comfort, grip, and control in mind as a batter but also keeping into consideration the type of knob needed to keep your hands safe and protected when using the powerful Demarini metal bats.

DeMarini Metal Bats

The baseball bat technology features listed above are found within the series of the DeMarini metal bats. I’ve put together a few tables for you to compare models and series. Take note that the available sizes and barrel measures depend on each available drop. For example, Drop -10s of Junior Big Barrels would only have sizes 30 and below and barrel sizes fit for the total length of the bat.

DeMarini CF Bats Series

In this series you will find the 3 Fusion system, Paraflex Composite build, and the RCK knob which are explained above, it also has some of the older tech feats of DeMarini such as the Low Pro End Cap and the D-Fusion 2.0. Other terms used for the bats in this series are DeMarini CF8 for drop -8s and DeMarini CF3 for drop -3s.

DeMarini Voodoo Bat Series

Voodoos are usually two or three piece bats except for the specifically labeled “Voodoo One”, which are the one piece bats. You’ll find the same cool new features of DeMarini such as the RCK and 3 Fusion, but instead of all of this beauty built into the Paraflex Composite, these ones are made of the durable X14 Alloy.

Other Demarini Products

DeMarini officially started as a softball brand, so they really excel in the ball field of marketing with their softball equipment. So let’s take a look at their other offers for products they have up for sale other than their baseball bats.

  • Baseball and Softball bags
  • Baseball and Softball Batting Helmets
  • Baseball and Softball Batting Gloves
  • Baseball and Softball Accessories
  • Baseball and Softball Apparel and Uniform (even custom uniforms)
  • Slow Pitch Softball balls
  • Softball Bats

DeMarini Custom Bats

For models and options of customization for wooden baseball bats. Fastpitch bats, this is where you’ll find the popular and extremely talked about Demarini CFX Insane Bat, and last but not the least, customization information for slow pitch bats, although the only two customizable bats for slow pitch softball in Demarini is the 2017 Flipper OG (ASA approved) and the Dinger Slinger from 2017 which is USSSA approved.

DeMarini vs. Marucci

DeMarini is usually considered to be on a designer level for baseball bats but I couldn’t agree less. Although their bats have heaps of brand spanking new technology and their products do hold a great amount of durability and high quality, it’s usually not that awesome when it comes to warranty. DeMarini offers a simple warranty, just like most other sporting brands out in the market but it’s nothing like the Marucci.

Marucci bats that haven’t been bought from Authorized dealers can be registered for warranty online using the serial number of the bat, but other brands usually don’t even entertain bats not bought from an Authorized dealer, but at least DeMarini is a little more forgiving than Louisville Slugger when it comes to customer care, which is up next!

DeMarini vs. Louisville Slugger

Unlike DeMarini, Louisville Slugger only gives out manufacturer warranty, which means to qualify for the warranty, you’ll have to get the bat directly from them through their website or their official post-factory shop. So DeMarini takes the win when it comes to customer care in this battle.

However, if we’re talking about options, boy does Louisville Slugger put Demarini to shame. This is of course, if you’re not including custom jobs, because obviously both (or all) sporting brands do customs. I’m talking about what’s in stock and ready to buy. Louisville Slugger has a crazy number of options!

DeMarini vs. Rawlings

Demarini versus Rawlings! Rawlings also has a lot more in-stock options for you in comparison to Demarini, but Demarini might just take the lead against Rawlings when it comes to the technology in both brands for metal bats. For me, Rawlings is most similar with Louisville Slugger, but again offers better warranty.

Let’s just say that it’s hard to compare brands according to how many options they have in stock, because of the custom jobs they offer, but it makes it far easier and much more cheaper when there is a wide variety already in stock, which is probably DeMarini seems to be the most expensive brand, since it does hold some pretty high end baseball bats.

DeMarini vs. Adidas

Okay, it might seem weird for me to throw in Demarini against Adidas, since Adidas is just so popular even those who aren’t fans of sports are caught wearing Adidas apparel, but let’s face the facts. Even though Adidas does have some really great equipment for baseball, DeMarini is much more known to be a baseball brand than Adidas.

Customer care would be far better of course, Adidas is a little better established, but for baseball, Demarini all the day to the home plate!

DeMarini Advantages

  • DeMarini is known to be amazing when it comes to custom work for baseball bats. Whatever the price turns out to be, usually is pretty much worth it.
  • Technology is off the hook! Their 3 Fusion system is incredible, all the negative vibrational feedback isn’t just being swallowed up by an inner material, but it’s actually being recycled back into the barrel instead of spreading to the handle to produce more force against the ball for power like none other.
  • Free retooling or acceptance of returns for any bats bought directly from Demarini if your bat used to be USSSA certified but due to USSSA rules and regulation updates, your bat is no longer accepted, I will share more information on retooling and returns for this situation down below!
  • Out of all the brands mentioned above, DeMarini wins when it comes to softball

DeMarini Disadvantages

  • DeMarini will not allow you to register for warrant on your bat if you have bought it from an unauthorized Demarini dealer.
  • DeMarini doesn’t really have much options that are in stock
  • Custom jobs are pretty pricey with these guys
  • DeMarini 2016 bats are no longer available on their website
  • No cheap blem bats/ discount bats :(. Maybe they’ve just perfected what they do (is this an advantage or a disadvantage?)
  • Limited options for DeMarini youth bats

DeMarini Bats to Avoid

I would avoid buying any bats that aren’t from the authorized Demarini dealers because like I’ve already mentioned several times, this won’t come with warranty, especially if it’s the 2017 CF Zen Drop -10 bat, because this no longer meets the updated version of USSSA requirements for baseball bats.

If you have stumbled upon this problem but bought your 2017 CF Zen Drop -10 bat from an authorized dealer, read on for Demarini retooling and return information.

Retooling 2017 CF Zen Drop -10 Bats Steps:

  • Submit your claim.
  • A confirmation email with the shipping label will be sent to your email within 36 hours.
  • Send in your bat according to shipping label instructions and information.
  • Retooling will be done in 5 business days.
  • Once returned it should be marked approved with a new baseball bat logo for USSSA, a new model number, and a high visibility end cap.

In the future, if you have a bat that isn’t the 2017 CF Zen Drop -10 but does find that the updated USSSA requirements cause your bat to go from USSSA approved to disapproved, you can always use this as a method or retooling or returning, but make sure that your DeMarini bat is bought from an Authorized Dealer, better yet, just grab it directly from them via their official website which is www.demarini.com.

Returning 2017 CF Zen Drop -10 Bats Steps:

  • Submit your claim
  • A confirmation email with shipping label will be sent to your email within 36 hours
  • Send your bat to DeMarini according to the instructions on the shipping label
  • Upon receiving your returned bat, DeMarini will send you a voucher through your email worth $349.95 for inline products and $479.95 for custom work
  • Use your voucher to buy a new product

Keep in mind that your voucher can be used to buy products from a few other baseball bats manufacturers from the official baseball websites of DeMarini, Wilson, Slugger, ATEC Sports, and EvoShield. You can also send a request for your voucher to be divided into two smaller vouchers adding up to $349.95 rather than one large lumpsum. This is useful if you want to give one as a gift, or you’re looking to buy cheaper goods like baseball gloves or apparel, so that you don’t have to spend your whole $349.95 voucher on something that only costs $100.

Additional DeMarini Product Services Information

DeMarini Warranty

DeMarini offers a warranty on products bought only from DeMarini Authorized Dealers because they will need your receipt from the authorized dealer. They will not accept eBay, PayPal, or other online payment receipts unless it is a receipt directly from their website in which they would have sent all the information you’d need for Warranty or Returns to your email. Submit a warranty claim. A claim will usually take 4-7 business days from the arrival of the bat to the DeMarini Bat Care Center to be processed.

If your DeMarini USSSA bat no longer meets the updated qualification requirements of USSSA, you can go ahead and claim this specific item or go ahead and call this hotline: 1-800-800-9932, but you can always take the instructions I’ve listed above to get your shipping label faster.
